The Benefits of Acupressure
I am often contacted and asked if acupressure can treat a certain condition or disease. “Can you treat arthritis?” or “Can acupressure fix my stomach pain?” This view on treatment is much like how a doctor prescribes pain killers to treat pain and drugs to treat high cholesterol or diabetes. I don’t directly treat the illness and I wouldn’t commit to supporting anyone without meeting that person and learning more about that individual’s situation and breaking down potential areas to improve their health.
“Multiple causal co-factors for a single disease. Multiple diseases with the same causal co-factors.”
We may view acupressure as an alternative treatment for disease or the symptoms of an illness, but in essence, it is not. The beauty of acupressure is that it supports the underlying health and balance of the individual. Imbalance in wellbeing due to lifestyle or external factors opens the door for disease. An experienced acupressure practitioner supports their client to remove imbalances that are limiting their health and restore energy and vitality. The focus is on finding what that individual needs to build their body and mind to a more relaxed, energised, and robust state of health.
