Gut Health: Finding the right balance
No one-size-fits-all cure
There are many fads, diets, supplements, probiotics, blogs and books about gut health, but some things that occur naturally cannot be bottled. There is no single path to restoring gut health.
From pain, hormone imbalances and chronic inflammation to weight gain, stress and fatigue, gut health plays a role in a whole host of common complaints. I most often see clients with stomach pain, stomach tension, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), constipation, bloating, Chrone’s disease, and ulcerative colitis.
Treatment from the outside in
Many people come to me with gut health problems and, instead of starting at the site of the problem, I take a holistic view and look for the influencing factors. More often people think or have been taught that gut issues are caused by what you eat but diet is just one piece of the puzzle. Lifestyle factors such as stress and tension can also play a part. My 20+ years of acupressure and abdominal massage experience has given me a unique insight into the tensions and imbalances that affect both the gut and digestion, and the body as a whole.
More energy, less anxiety
I often meet people who have become so worried about food that they end up on a very restricted diet which can lead to malnutrition, further contributing to poor gut health and anxiety.
I’m thankful when clients come to me with these experiences so I can show them my holistic approach to helping them regain their energy and wellbeing.
Feedback I hear from my clients includes:
- I have increased and more consistent energy.
- I’ve got my life back (I’m eating better or not on the loo all the time)
- I feel alive again and ready to engage in life.
- I feel motivated and more vital.
- My skin has improved, and overall I feel and look better.
- My anxiety has lessened.
